In addition to national cricket, Inter-University, College and School Cricket, Shaheed Smriti Cricket, Damal Summer Cricket, Star Samar Cricket and various cricket tournaments were organized in Bangladesh. Since independence, cricket leagues and other cricket tournaments have been organized at every district and thana level.
The national cricket team of Bangladesh participated in the first ICC Trophy in 1979 and won the title in the 1999 World Cup in the 1999 World Cup. Earlier, in 1986, Bangladesh took part in one-day international cricket by participating in Asia Cup.
Like many other cricket-like countries in the world, Bangladesh has its wide popularity. In the same year, Bangladesh lost Zimbabwe 3-2 in one-day internationals, then the first full member of the ICC received a taste of a series against any country. In 2006, Bangladesh achieved the credit of whitewashing the first nation, losing 4-0 to Kenya in the four-match series. In 2009, West Indies lost both the Tests and ODIs, winning the first series against any country in a foreign country. And in 2010 they lost New Zealand 4-0 in their one-day match to a Test match, the taste of whitewash for any country in the first Test. The success of Bangladesh in the World Cup is like mentioning. Bangladesh won the first match in 1999 against Scotland and Pakistan. In addition, India lost the quarter-final round to the 2007 World Cup. Bangladesh also won against South Africa.
